How do you remember certain items when you have repressed them for a long long time, and how is it possible that people can forget certain things of big importance? Is it some shortcut in the brain or an emotional state that makes people do that?

I remember all sort of things, important things, irrelevant things. Some memories I've pushed away, so no one, including me, will have to go through them again. But they'll come back, like they always do. They had such a great impact on my way of thinking, my way of feeling, they'll never disappear completely. It's an emotional state. When you feel horrible, you can't think of something funny just like that. It takes time
