PostSubject: Child of the ancient (introduction)   Sun Jul 29, 2007 12:52 pm

She remembered it well, how his hair fell over his shoulders as he softly moved his head towards the sun on a bright shining afternoon. they had just woke up and he was dressing himself while she couldn’t take her eyes of his half naked body. She knew he had to leave that particular day, and that she probably would never see him again. Yet she had that strange feeling in her stomach as if he never would leave her completely. He still went, he smiled and kissed her goodbye before the afternoon came to an ending. She had never forgotten his face and how he looked like when he walked out of the door, leaving her naked and scared. It was a glorious appearance like he would single handed end the fights that where assaulting the country at that time. But they both knew this war would probably end his life within a few months. He had to move on as his superiors had ordered him to do, and so should she when the time came to do so.

There was a brilliance of death scattering the streets as Channa walked out of the door of the sleazy inn where she had spend the night. She ignored the smell of death body’s lying around as she walked trough the misty village towards the house where the gathering took place. Her rendezvous of the night before, or better said the day before was still fresh in her memory, still she couldn’t let her feelings take over her instinct right now. She would have to appear with a clear head and her mind open for anything that they could possibly tell her. Although she just had slept with the so called enemy, her feelings for him could never take over her sober view on things. She had to remember at all times that she was here to represent her people and that nobody could ever bring her off her duty. As for the surroundings, she was really surprised to see that the army of Garrath had already taken over the southern part this far. When she left the castle they where only ruling over the north and desert, but than again that was weeks ago. They moved faster than she expected, even caught her off guard as she was continuing her road towards the city of Morč. Luckily they didn’t paid to much attention to her and besides from the army hero that had saved her from the troops and landed in her bed that same night, her voyage was without trouble. If only the general knew that she wasn’t really that innocent or helpless as he had thought, she would probably have the whole diversion after her right now. For once the invisibility of her true face had worked in her advantage.

A single horse without a rider on it passed her by as she opened the doors of the meeting place. It was still early and nobody but the owner was present. He offered me a cup of strange looking ale which she friendly accepted while she took place in the room without a view. In the dark corner where she sat it was hard for people to either see or recognize her, but she could look over the whole area and hear the sounds from the outside world as well. So she sat there, drinking the ale as the area filled itself with people. They where all opponents of the ruler of Garrath, and as usual in politics they all had there own benefits to consider before an alliance could be made. She silenced herself though she would have loved to opened her mouth and bring some of the overly dressed and arrogant parrots to silence. The president of the meeting opened and she listened with half an ear while irritating herself to the crowd that showed up. An alliance in these days was hard to achieve, yet impossible for some because it would make them hand in more than they would gain from it. Some good points where made as she recalled, but none of them really mattered much because a silence almost impossible to hear for any normal human being. Within a flash something happened up front and before she could comprehend what was going on, someone had already killed the host behind the closed doors of the gathering. Than there was a shouting when a few of the guests discovered the man of Garrath that had found their way into the house. There where almost fifty of them, all dressed in their red and green uniforms and shiny swords. Channa saw them cutting off the heads of many while some fought back and killed a few of them. She slowly stood up from her hiding place and carefully putted the cup down. Than she walked into the light where about forty man just killed the not yet existing alliance. She had to admit, Garrath’s man where good, but she was better. While the forty soldiers held up their swords she started her dance with them. There was a lot of blood, blood that coloured her dress in red spots. And there where a lot of faces, she always remembered the faces of the people she killed for some reason. She killed them all except for a little boy that was hardly at the age of being a soldier yet. The last man she killed was the same one she spend the night with, he looked terrified and betrayed as she cut his throat. Than she turned to the frightened boy who had crawled into a corner and was shaking. She helped him up and pointed out the dead man in front of them. ‘What is the name of your leader?’ She asked him because that name was the only one on her list that she hadn’t quite figured out yet. ‘Garrath’ he answered with a weak voice. It was not what she wanted to hear but the little boy didn’t knew anything else. ‘Tell him to be aware of me, whenever he comes across the old lands I will be waiting for him.’ She said with a cool voice. The boy nodded his head and took off.
Channa took her knife out of the last man she killed. ‘Goodbye my lover’ she whispered softly as she closed his wondering eyes and putted the knife back into his place. she putted the cup back on the counter and took off into the same woods she had came from.

That was ages ago, or so it seemed. A year sometimes appears as an age when you are waiting for something as she was. She still remembered it well, her teachers always told her to remember every little detail even if it seemed not important at the time. So she did, every face, every smile and every pair of eyes, even the words spoken by non important people she remembered. After all, everything was important in a war the size of this one. She remembered and she still does, now that she had crossed the borders and gotten back to her own lands to take the measures she needed to take. Protecting her people was all she needed to do right now, and so she would now Garrath had finally found a way to crossed the old lands. She would be ready for him.
