A haunted house

Let's see if we can make it scary and of mystical this time

Introduction:

There is a haunted house on the far side of Ravidge Hill. This house, although it has been empty for decades, has a history of destroying people that dare to come inside. Now a group of humans with a simulair mystical interest have come to Radvidge Hill to explore this house. Their plan is to stay there for several weeks while they explore what is going on with the house and why it has made so many people dissapeared. Feel free to join this expedition.

Dwight was walking behind the others. He told them this was a stupid idea, and he didn't know why he was comming. Maybe he was just to curious to stay bahind.
All the times he had been close to the house, he had a bad feeling about it. He didn't know what it was, but he could feel a sort of... evil inside the house. And then, ofcourse, there were those stories. Stories about other people, just like them, who had tried to solve the secrets of the house. Nobody ever hesrd anything about them. And now he was about to enter the house himself. He was glad he wasn't alone.
There it was, big, and dark, behind a big iron fence to keep curious people like them away.
'Do you really want to go on with this guys?', he asked, whyle the bad feeling was coming again.

Catherine was all excited. Finally they were going to enter the haunted mansion. She signed up for this right away when she heard about it.
She wondered what they would learn about the house. Maybe it was all mythe what people thought and told about the house. She couldn't really imagine that people could vanish after entering a house, so this was her chance to prove it. Though she didn't believe the rumors, she had goose bumps. Maybe it was just the wind, or something like it.
They reached the iron fence that was meant to keep strangers away from the house. Some people started to look nervous, the fence somehow pointed out that people were really scared about what's inside.
' Do you really want to go on with this, guys?', said one of the men. I glanced at him. She had noticed him right away, the one who still thought this was a really, really bad idea.
' Sure, don't you want to know what's inside? I'm so curious why all people think this house is haunted', answered Catherine and she smiled at him.

THe mansion was a big and surreal house on top of th ehill in front of them. Elisa had never seen such a big and mysterious house before and felt excided about being here. She looked around at the other guests. Nobody had ever seen eachother before but they looked like they had known each other forever. 'This will be interesting' she sighted as she lifted her bags and started walking to the gigantic door in front of them. 'Does antybody knows exactly what we're suppose to do here?' she asked.

Why are all those people here? It would make Ramon his work much more troublesome. He was assigned a simple mission, no big risks. But this would make it a big risk! Now what to do? He looked around, some looked excited, some scared. It did not bother him. His hand touched his jacket at the point of his hart. Lucky him he did not forget to take his good old pal. He looked at his bagpack. It looked as if it was filled to the notch. Well it was, but maybe he took a bit too much. Because he did not want to start a ruckus. Ah well, he would see how things would start to unfolde.

When they reached the gigantic door, Catherine felt a bit scared. Somehow, her great and almighty attitude towards the house was fading. Maybe there was something there that could hurt them. Hurt them beyond the imaginable.
There's nothing, you don't have to be scared. You weren't scared a few minutes ago, so why now? Are you already giving up on this? No, she wouldn't give up. She looked around and saw that her fellow companions were waiting. Waiting for someone to open that door. There was a bell next to the huge wooden doors, but Catherine did not dare to ring it. Nobody would live at a place like this, or could, like the mythe says. So nobody would open that door and Catherine didn't want to wake up anything else that could possibly live in that house.
' So, how do we get in? I think we have to get inside if we want to find out if the rumors are true', she said and waited.

The big door in front of us opened with a swing and we all took a few steps back. All eyes where now pointed at the relative young man that had opened the door and stood there, he was not at all what we hadd expected. He was fairly modern dressed and whore glasses. He looked like some friendly form of a professor of some kind. 'Welcome, I see you all had uor inventation, please come in' the man said. A bit scared we followed him into the great hall which was magnificent. I felt like a little child in a doll house, everything looked so huge that the people looked smaller by the minute. 'If you feel ready, please follow me to the dining room where I will tell you what you are all doing here' the man with the glasses said. Silent we followed him, impressed by all that was surrounding us.

Catherine felt like her jaw dropped to the ground. She didn't expect the door to open and certainly not that there was a man living inside this creepy house. He sounded gentle and nice, but she kept her suspicions. They all followed him inside the huge house and Catherine felt amazed, amazed by everything that was inside. Huge closets, huge table, everything just was huge. She looked at her fellow travelers, they all seemed to feel the same.
After a while they entered the dining room. Just like the rest of the house, it was huge. The first thing Catherine noticed was that there wasn't any dust, like she expected from an old haunted house. It seemed that someone cleaned her quite often. The wooden tables were shiny and the puffy chairs looked clean too.
' Please, take a seat. It will take a while to tell you why you're here and I don't want you to get tired of standing here all day. Anyone wants some tea?', said the man and they all sat down.

While she followed the group Cho tried to see every single thing in the enormous halls. She went on this trip because she had heard that the house was beautiful, but she had never imaged it to be so big. Although she just wanted to run away to discover even more halls and rooms in this house she silently followed the group into the dinner room and sat down on one of the chairs. Deep inside she was a little nervous about this trip. She had heard the story’s about this house being haunted but never really worried about it until now. All the people around here seemed to be pretty nervous too.

A little uncomfortable she began to bit on her lip, like she always did when she was worried. While she nervously looked around she listened to the man’s explanation about the house.

Izgir quickly hid himself when that strange new, fashionable man that came here just a few days ago opened the doors. There was a huge group of people behind the door. The new man led them to the dining room.
Izgir the Imp had no idea what was going on. Being just an imp, he wasn't the brightest. But he recognized trouble when he saw it. And this was trouble. Big trouble.
"Better inform the big boss.... the boss.... yes.... Inform Count Olrox. Me watchout for Count Olrox.... yess..." he murmered to himself. He crept out of the tiny indent in the wall that he had been hiding in. After that, he spread his wings and flew away, deeper into the Haunted House.

Count Olrox was having his daily 5 o’clock tea as usually that day. That was one of the few moments he really enjoyed since a long time, precisely since he was declared “the ugliest person in town” by the few persons that knew him on the rare occasions he had to leave the house.
The house was a legacy of his grandfather, Lord Thomas Eckard, the big explorer that helped some archeologists to discover the Egypt’s Pyramids. The brownish pictures of Lord Thomas were all around the living room, hanging on old fashioned frames. If you looked at them, you would feel like those eyes are continuously looking at you, as if he’s actually looking “through” you, but not “at” you.
All those glory times were gone now, and the house was the only testimony of times were brave people would go to the other side of the world to discover things no one else would have imagined.
Count Olrox left his tea cup aside on the small table, and walked to the window slowly, thinking on the calm day he was having, as usual. Yes, it was just another day on earth, he thought…until he heard a knock on the big cedar door…

Catherine grew impatient from the waiting. The glassed man was telling the history of this weird house, which she already knew. She looked around and saw that most people were a bit absent-minded.
' An age ago, this house was owned by Lord Thomas Eckard. You're all ought to know him, he was famous for helping to find the Egypt's Pyramids. Many say he was weird, living all alone in this big house. Some say he had a pact with the devil, cause he lived longer than anyone else in the village. Untill one day, he just vanished without a trace. Nobody knows where he left and since then, the house was declared haunted by the devil. No one has ever set foot on this ground untill a few days ago, when I entered the house', the man spoke and Catherine jawned. Hopefully he would start about the main thing soon, she wanted to know what the real reason behind the add was. She tapped her fingers on the wooden table in an unknown rythim.

Izgir knocked on the door. "Master, master, I must speak with you."
Count Olrox opened the door. "What is it, imp....?"
"Izgir, master. Me imp Izgir"
"Ah, yes. Izgir. So what is it, Izgir, that was so urgent you had to interrupt my tea?"
"The man with the fancy clothes, master. He opened door and let in lots of people. Lots and lots. And now they drink tea, master."
"I fail to see the urgency of that, imp...eh..."
"Izgir, master"
"Izgir. Now get out, my tea is getting cold."
"But master!" Izgir yelled. "Master! You not affraid they cause trouble?"
"They'll leave in time. They all will." Count Olrox closed the door.
"Yes, master." Izgir said, looking at the ground.

Ramon new all of this. And it was not crucial for him. He did not need anymore infromation, he just needed free acces to every room in the house. Every room! Again he touched his jacket near his heart. Than he reached to his backpack, opened it just a little and let out a tine robot bug. He looked at his cellphone, good. He had connection. Now he did have some time to listen. He glanced around the groupe, no one suspected something, good. Everything went well...

' And the reason why we're all here...', the man said and Catherine lifted her head. Finally something that was worth her attention. The whole speech was getting really boring.
' You all know that people seem to vanish here, and I think that's because Lord Eckard has hidden some valuable treasures here. Treasures he found in the Egypt Pyramids. We can become rich and famous if we find them and solve the mistery of the lost people'.
Catherine jawned. So it was all about a treasure from Egypt. She noticed that he was talking about that the most. He didn't even care for the people that gone into missing, she was sure of it. Well, she could pretend to search for a treasure if she could solve the mistery.

Elisa listened with hals an ear to what the strange gentleman was saying. meanwhile she looked around the gigantic room and wondered why there where so many people here that all seemed so diffrent. Was this to be some sort of project? Was the gouverment involved perhaps?
She walked towards the wall that seemed to be made intirely out of mirrors and glazed at the people behind her. 'Wait a minute' she whispered to herself. There where other people in this room, people that where not actually in this room. Ghosts perhaps?
If this where the strangest thing she had ever encounted she would probably scream but this house kinda brought it over itself and she had already expected this much. 'That's just not right' she whispered again. This house was haunted, the keeper was lying!

"Egyptian treasure... noo.... fancy suit looks for treasuresss...." Izgir murmered to himself. He had hidden himself behind one of the fake mirrors so he could keep an eye on the strangers.
"Foolsss.... Old Eckard's treasures.... Steal ghosts treasuressss... ghost Eckard... Oh, watch out!" He hopped backward as one of the woman of the group walked right at his mirror.
"No, no... shoo!" He whispered. For a second he thought he was found, but then the woman turned around and returned to the rest of the group.
"Pfew, woman didn't see Izgir. Woman no bright eyes... woman -hey? what's this?" Izgir picked up a bug that flew by. He scratched his head.
"Bug? There're never bugs... yummy bugs...." He threw it in his mouth.
"Mmmm... mmmm..... crispy bug.... mmmm.... Very hard shell..." -CRACK-
"What?! Bug not juicy? Bug still crispy.... mmmm...."

With her eyes Cho followed a bug that was flying trough the room and waited for the man to stop talking. He talked about some treasures but she wasn’t interested in that. She just wanted to discover everything. She would have looked to the man again if she didn’t saw an arm coming out of the mirror. She blinked a few times with her eyes to make sure she wasn’t dreaming. What? She thought while she concentrated on the bug and the arm. The arm suddenly grabbed the little bug and within a second the bug and the arm were gone.

“Don’t come to close to the mirrors.” She whispered nervously to herself while she began to bit on her lip again.

Catherine looked at the people around her. Some of them looked like they already found the treasure and she could see them dream away. But most of the people looked around like if there was something wrong in the room.
Some were whispering to themselves and Catherine wondered what they're saying. Her curiousity was one of her bad habits, the one who actually got her here.
She leaned backwards, so she could hear the murmering of the woman behind her.' Don't come to close to the mirrors', she whispered and Catherine wondered what was wrong with the mirrors. She had noticed them when she entered the room, they were huge and hardly to miss. Maybe this woman was a little bit out of her mind.

Izgir flew aimlessly through the house. He was still worried about all those people, however. After hopping through the kitchen he flew through the Hall of Pitfalls.
"Hi, Karach." He said to the strange looking thing walking on the ceiling. The thing replied with a series of clicks. Karach had always been a strange fellow. Being a Mucosa, he couldn't speak well. He had the body of a spider, although with only 6 legs, a torso of a human where the spiderhead should've been, his remaining 2 arms were spider legs, and he had a spider head.
Karach released another series of clicks.
"Yess... yes.... there are lots of humans in the house..."
More clicks.
"Noo... no no no... Olrox said to leave them alone."
More clicks, slightly slower this time.
"Yes, they sure look tasty. But! Izgir is busy."
Clicks.
"Why me busy? I... Eh.... It's a secret. Yes. A secret. Now go back to the webroom, Karach. I'll call you when Olrox needs you."
Clicks.
"What, you don't believe Izgir? You don't believe me?!"
More clicks.
"Now go back to your room, you!"

' Well ladies, gentlemn, you can go off now. If you need anything, feel free to ask me for it. I think it's best for everyone to try on their own. We'll contact eachother through this microphones', said the man and he handed one to each of them. Catherine looked at hers. It was just a normal mircophone, with a headset. Not strange at all. She saw others looking strange at it as well.
Finally she decided and stood up. A few faces turned towards her, but she didn't pay attention to them. The faster she would be, the faster she would find the secret of the missing people. She had no clue about where to search first, so she headed for the kitchen..

Well finally he could walk around freely! He was a little irritated, he lost the signal of his bug. It was probably destroyed... Well it did not matter anymore. He would search with his own strength...
'Well, if we can walk around now. I will excuse myself. ' And with that he walked out of the room. Out of his back he took a big, long pistol. After a little searching he found the right bullets and put them in the pistol. Now, with his gun in his jeans he took his time to investigate every room he entered. But he did not find anything out of order yet...

It was a neat kitchen, plain and old. Though it seemed to be cleaned a while ago, there was no dust, it had some spiderwebs in it. Catherine touched one of them, but no spider appeared. She wondered where they went.
Next, her interest was going to the cupboards, she opened them one by one, finding nothing but some ragged cloths and a few dead rats. The last made her screaming her lungs out, cause they smelled so bad, she allmost puked. She ran out the kitchen, she didn''t think there was something that could help her.
Suddenly, a movement caught her eye and her hand was on her stunning-gun. She had better wapons packed in, but she didn't want to harm innocent creatures.''Who's there?'', she called.

It had been a long time since Debra heard voices around the house again. Now she could see the people wondering around in this godforsaken place but for some reason she couldn't reach them. It was like they where unaware of her presence but yet they could feel the master and his minions around them. It was dreadfull to be able to see this all but not being able to do something about it. Those nice and unaware people where walking right into his arms without even knowing it, just like Debra had done so many years ago. Soon they would be trapped here just like she was and fall into his hands like the others had done before. If only she knew of a way to stop him this time, to safe them, than maybe she could go home again.

Nobody answered her frantic question and soon she laughed at herself. Silly Cathy was getting scared by her own imagination. She wasn't convinced by the myth, but really being here gave her the feeling there was something mystical about the house, as if something was wrong with the atmospher.
Suddenly she saw the movement again, now on her right side. She didn't yell, but jumped in it's direction. She needed to get her mind clear of all these weird events, if she wanted to solve the myth and get famous.

'Hey! Take it easy!' Ramon said when Someone jumped in his direction. He was hiding in the shadows because he did not want to be seen so he could investigate without being botherd by others... But, it was probably to late for that.
'Well, what do we have here! Isn't it a chamring lady?' he said while smiling. 'And a dangerous one too! Now lady, will you tell me your name while you take your hand of that gun? There is no need for violence, and I don't like to call you lady all the time.' He smiled a little and made a small bow.

It was a he and he could talk too! Suprise ran across her face. She was getting all jumpy by some weirdo, who she remembered from the meeting before. He sure was weird, hiding like that and scaring the hell out of her.
'' You're completely insane! Why did you not say that you was here when I called for someone to answer? I am only violent when someone tries to sneak up on me. And you have no business with my name. lady sounds fine'', Catherine yelled at the stranger. If he was nice enough, or apologized, she could always tell him her name. She didn't put away her gun, it could be needed any moment.
